A fun, structured one-week chess camp designed to help kids build confidence, focus, and real chess skills through guided lessons, practice, and gameplay.
Led by instructor Jorge Trevino of RGV Chess Community, this camp is designed to balance learning and fun in a supportive environment where students can improve steadily throughout the week — whether they’re brand new to chess or already building intermediate skills.
Rather than just casual free play, each day includes intentional instruction, guided games, tactical exercises, and interactive challenges that help students strengthen both strategy and critical thinking.
Throughout the week, students will build:
Core chess fundamentals
Piece movement and board awareness
Basic openings and strategy
Tactical thinking and pattern recognition
Problem-solving through puzzles and guided exercises
Confidence through practice games and friendly competition
Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 12
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM daily
Beginner to intermediate friendly
Small group format for more personal attention
Registration is per child
$100 per child for the full week
This includes all lessons, guided gameplay, activities, and camp instruction throughout the full 5-day experience.
We intentionally keep camp sizes small so each child receives more individualized support, guidance, and encouragement throughout the week.
This helps create a more focused and enjoyable learning environment where kids can build confidence while still having fun.
Because camp spots are intentionally limited, registrations are non-refundable once reserved.
Thank you for understanding and committing to the full week experience.
